Name of Competition: Promoting Alumni Research: 3-minute presentations

Details of Participation

Information on how to enter forms part of these Details of Participation and entry is deemed as acceptance of them.

No purchase is necessary to enter the contest or redeem prizes. 

Contest commences on 21 September 2020 and entries close at 12.00 PM AEDT on 4 November 2020.  

Entries not received by that date or not completed in accordance with the Details of Participation will not be eligible to win.

Prize

Prizes: Five prizes, each comprising: a $1,000 prize grant that can be used for translation activities such as professional development training, creating journal articles, or attending a domestic research conference; and a one-on-one meeting with a member of the Heart Foundation’s Advocacy and Media teams to discuss options available for promoting and advocating their findings.

Total prize pool is valued at $5,000 

All prize values are correct at the time of printing.

Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash unless otherwise indicated.

Who can enter

Contest is open to Heart Foundation Alumni members who submit a 3-minute video presenting their Heart Foundation-funded research project. 

Employees and volunteers of the promoter and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter. 

How to enter

“Only one entry per person is permitted. Entry is submitted by emailing a 3-minute research presentation in the format of a video to alumni@heartfoundation.org.au and registering to attend the Alumni Webinar at:

Entries will be judged based on the research project overview, potential research outcomes and the impact the research will have on the heart health of Australians by a panel of judges.  

All entries submitted become the property of the promoter.  Entries will not be returned to any entrant.  As a condition of entering this promotion, each entrant agrees to assign all of their rights, title and interest (including copyright) of the 3-minute video in and to their entry to the Promoter. The promoter is entitled to use any entry for any purposes at its discretion, including using the entry for future promotional and publicity purposes. Entrants to this competition assign all intellectual property rights in the entry to the Promoter and indemnify the promoter in respect of any infringement or alleged infringement of the intellectual property rights (including copyright) of any person, arising out of the promoter’s use of the entry. Entrants consent to any act or omission of the promoter that might otherwise breach the Entrant’s moral rights in the entry.

Judging

This is a competition of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners.

The winning entries will be the entries judged to be the best presented research project overviews, the best potential research outcomes, and based on the impact the research will have on the heart health of Australians.

Judging will take place between 9 – 18 November.  

Notification

Winners will be notified by phone or email where possible. 

The winners' names will be presented during the live alumni webinar on 24 November 2020 and published on www.heartfoundation.org.au during the week beginning 30 November 2020.
